Prof. Massimo Faccoli of the University of Padova published a scientific article on “Forest@ – Rivista di Selvicoltura ed Ecologia Forestale”.
One of the main species studied within the SAMFIX project is the small Ambrosia beetle Xylosandrus compactus, an invasive species of Asian origin recently introduced in Italy from which rapidly spread to other Mediterranean countries. The scarcity of information relating to the biology and ecology of X. compactus in the recently invaded territories suggested the preparation of a brief note reporting the knowledge so far available about this new pest.
